Hello, I'm Lauri Shultis, Criminal Justice Program Director and Instructor. I teach CRIM 1010 Introduction to CJ, CRIM 1020 Introduction to Corrections, CRIM 2030 Police & Society, CRIM 2200 Criminology & CRIM 2590 Contemporary Issues in CJ. I have been teaching at the college since 2004. Prior to coming to CCC I worked as a police officer, a child abuse investigator, and as the director of a domestic violence and sexual assault victim advocacy program. I also served for 18 years as a member of the 9th Judicial District Mental Health Board. I have bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and Psychology and a Masters degree in Management and Leadership. I live in Howard County on 100 acres with my husband Wayne and we have two children Jessica (24) and Jason (22). My hobbies include photography, running, and riding my geldings. I really love teaching and being a mentor to students wanting a career in the Criminal Justice field. CRIM 2260 Criminal Procedure. Mark Stegman is a graduate of Grand Island Central Catholic and has a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Physical Education from the University of Nebraska Kearney. After college graduation Mark worked at the Diagnostic and Evaluation Center in Lincoln for a year then joining the Grand Island Police Department in 1999.

CRIM 2000 Criminal Law. Sarah Hinrichs is a licensed attorney in Nebraska
and Texas. Sarah is currently employed as a Deputy County Attorney at the
Hall County Attorney's Office in Grand Island, Nebraska. She handles felony
and misdemeanor criminal prosecutions, juvenile abuse and neglect cases,
as well as all cases assigned to the Central Nebraska Drug Court. Sarah's
caseload involves crimes against persons, domestic violence, sexual assault,
child abuse, property crimes, technology-facilitated crimes, and drug
offenses. Before joining the Hall County Attorney's Office, Sarah served as a
Deputy Adams County Attorney in Hastings, Nebraska. In addition to her work
at the County Attorney's Office, Sarah serves on the Board of Directors for the Central Nebraska Council on Alcoholism and Addictions. She is a mock trial instructor at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center as well as a certified yoga instructor. Sarah graduated from Creighton University with a B.A. in Philosophy and completed her Juris Doctor at the Creighton University School of Law.

CRIM 2100 Juvenile Justice. Hi! My name is Jannelle Seim, and I am an adjunct instructor with the Criminal Justice Department of CCC. I have worked as Juvenile Justice Resource Supervisor for the State of Nebraska, District 5 Probation and prior to that I was a Juvenile Probation Officer. I have a BS degree in Criminal Justice and a graduate degree in Management/Leadership. I am new to the teaching gig, but so far so good! If anything, I have hilarious stories to share...so it makes class interesting! I live in Aurora with my husband, Anthony and sons Alex and Zachary. I haven't slept or eaten a hot meal since 2009, but they're totally worth it. If you have any questions regarding the fields of probation or juvenile justice, give me a shout. Hang on, kids! CRIM 2370 Contemporary Issues in Security & CRIM 2500 Introduction to Private Security. Daron Lindgreen got his start in Criminal Justice by obtaining his Associates Degree from CCC in Grand Island in 2001. Daron then joined the U.S. Air Force, working in Security Forces from 2002-2006, being stationed in Germany, Kuwait, and Offutt AFB in Omaha, NE. During that time, Daron worked law enforcement, base security, flight line security, flight security and convoy missions throughout the Middle East, and STRATCOM security.
While finishing his military career at Offutt AFB, Daron enrolled and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice through Bellevue University. In 2007, Daron became a police officer for the Grand Island Police Department, where he worked patrol division until 2013 when he was assigned a position as Investigator in the Criminal Investigations Division. Daron has obtained certifications as a child abuse investigator, Drug Recognition Expert, and Field Training Officer and is also a member of the Gang Unit

CRIM 2010 Introduction to Parole & Probation. Greetings! I am Martin A. Metschke and I teach Introduction to Probation and Parole at CCC. I am a specialized Probation Officer with the Nebraska State Probation Office. I have been a PO for over 12 years and currently supervises high risk adults for various felonies and misdemeanors. I also am a trainer for new Probation Officers in the subject areas of PPCT (unarmed defense tactics) and officer safety, Evidence Based Practices, DNA collection, and I train new officers in the District. Probation is an interesting and rewarding career. Prior to being a State Probation Officer, I have also worked at the Nebraska State Penitentiary as a caseworker (working with maximum, medium, and death row inmates), worked at a group home, and worked at a juvenile evening reporting center. I earned my bachelors degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2000. In my free time I like to spend time with my family, read, and be outdoors.

CRIM 1010 Introduction to CJ Columbus Campus. Captain Chuck Sherer, Columbus Police Department. I have been a law enforcement officer for over 37 years. Born in Wayne, NE and raised in Wakefield, NE, I graduated from Wakefield High School in 1978 and then attended Central Community
College (Platte Campus), and Northeast Community College where I received my Associate of Arts degree, and then
University of Nebraska-Omaha where I received my
Bachelor’s degree. In October of 1978, I entered the US Army Reserve and after 25 yrs. retired in April of 2003 achieving the rank of Master Sergeant. Over the course of my military career, I performed duties as a Military Policeman, Nuclear Biological & Chemical Warfare NCO and as an Instructor responsible for training soldiers for deployment to Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
My law enforcement career began July 17, 1979 as a patrolman in Schuyler, NE. where I was promoted through the ranks to Chief of Police, until August 25, 1997. At that time, I accepted a position as a Police Captain in Columbus. Upon my arrival at Columbus, I was assigned as the Support Division Commander, in charge of Communications, Investigations, Community Service Technicians, Physical Plant, Evidence, Property, and Training. I held that position for over 10 years and am currently assigned as the Commander of the Patrol Division, supervising four Shift Sergeants and 22 patrol officers. In 2015 I graduated from the 261st FBI National Academy and became a member of the Nebraska Chapter of FBI National Academy Associates.
When I’m not policing, I enjoy officiating all levels and styles of wrestling from local clubs and high school to college events and regional and national tournaments. I also enjoy firearms, marksmanship, aquariums, and taking long trips on my motorcycle.
Organizations I belong to include the American Legion, American Legion Riders, National High School Athletic Association, Metro Wrestling Official’s Association, Central Nebraska Wrestling Officials Association, Amateur Athletic Union Officials organization, USA Wrestling Officials organization, Police Officer’s Association of Nebraska, and the Venture Riders organization.
My wife Carla and I have been married for 35 years and have three adult children and four grandchildren.
